I would recommed it for children 7 and up, but not for six year old. I brought the Vtech - Vtech - Cyber Spy Notebook for my 7 year old granddaughter to help her to improve here reading, math, and spelling skills. I do not consider the Vtech - Cyber Spy Notebook a toy because it can be connect to a computer and that it teaches a child computer skills. My grandson who is 6 could not understand how to use the notebook. My granddaughter was very happy to have a laptop of her own.
We bought this for our 7 year old daughter for Christmas. So far she loves how realistic it looks. The screen is an okay size and the graphics are basic. So far the games have been pretty challenging for her which I like, hopefully it will keep her interest for a while.
My son was excited when he received the Cyber Spy Notebook for Christmas. He picked up on the math games very quickly, but since he is only 6, it does require me to help him with most of the other games since he is only learning to read. I anticpate this being much more fun as his reading proficency increases.
